If you wear contact lenses;

To optimize the result, you will need to provide a complete stop of the wearing of your contact lenses before the evaluation.

• At least 7 days off for soft lenses, in daily wear mode (removed each evening)
• At least 14 days off for soft toric lenses (correcting astigmatism) or in prolonged wear mode (worn during the night)
• At least 4 weeks off for every 10 years of wear for gas permeable semi-rigid lenses.

The ophthalmologist may ask you to extend this downtime if he deems it necessary. Doses of dilation will be instilled for the detailed evaluation of the fundus. The effect of dilation usually lasts 4 to 6 hours. It is not recommended to drive your vehicle with dilated pupils. It would be better to have a companion for the return as well as sunglasses.
