Myopia

If the eye is too long or the cornea is too curved, the light rays converge in front of the retina, resulting in blurred vision, especially from far away. If you are myopic and you remove your glasses, your vision will be clearer at close range, but you will have difficulty distinguishing objects that are further away.

To correct myopia, the laser must flatten the curvature of the cornea by pulverizing the cell layers located mainly at its centre. The ophthalmologist selects the size of the treatment zone beforehand.
